Assistant Property Manager

Contract to hire

Pay range: $25-27/hour

Location: Oakland, CA

The Assistant Property Manager supports the day-to-day operations of the property and serves as backup for the Property Manager when needed.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with leasing apartments, move-ins, and move-outs.
  • Maintain waiting list database, filing system, and leasing/occupancy reports.
  • Manage tenant files and address tenant concerns and complaints.
  • Prepare work orders for maintenance staff.
  • Support the Property Manager with the recertification process, including updates to software programs, HUD updates, and timely billing to HUD.
  • Assist with collection of monthly rent and processing deposits.
  • Prepare documents for accounting and administrative processing.
  • Act as Property Manager in their absence.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications: Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in affordable housing and/or property management required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required; Yardi experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in any field is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); knowledge of Yardi software a plus.
