Promotes the social, physical and intellectual growth of children; provides developmentally appropriate care; observes and documents children's learning and development; supervises classroom operations in the absence of the Lead Teacher; communicates effectively with children, all center staff and families. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of 12 credits in Early Childhood Education, including 3 from a Child Growth and Development, all from a regionally accredited college. Certification required to obtain: Must be certified in Infant and Child CPR including AED training, and Basic First Aid within 6 months of hire; must complete Water Safety training within 1 year of employment. Must be at least 18 years of age and have a minimum of two years’ experience working with young children in a group setting. Responsibilities include providing positive influence to classroom team and all co-workers in the Center, developing and maintaining positive relationships with each child and family, engaging with children to meet their developmental and social-emotional needs, modeling and teaching children self-regulation skills, implementing a child-centered curriculum in a safe, organized environment, observing children to assess development, sharing information with families and planning curriculum accordingly, supporting and following Concord Hospital and Learning Center policies and procedures, completing administrative tasks required for NH Child Care licensing, NAEYC accreditation and per Learning Center policies, demonstrating leadership skills as needed, committing to continual learning and professional development, and suggesting improvements based on best practice. Physical and work requirements include lifting, carrying or pushing/pulling weights up to 50 pounds occasionally, frequent bending, reaching, smelling, walking, occasional climbing, kneeling, fine motor skills, sitting, squatting, standing, and exposure to bodily fluids and other environmental factors.
