Full job description Cunningham Children's Home in Urbana, IL offers a unique opportunity to positively impact the lives of recently migrated youth. The Caminos program ensures a safe and secure placement for these children as they seek family reunification and pursue their education and immigration cases.
Ideal candidates are interested in human services, social work, psychology, caretaking, residential treatment, therapeutic services, mental health, and trauma-informed interventions.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BILINGUAL YOUTH CARE PROFESSIONAL As a Youth Counselor, you provide direct therapeutic support to our program's youth, following detailed wellness plans. Your kindness and understanding encourage open communication, and your patience ensures you're always ready to listen. Despite the physical and mental demands, you find satisfaction in helping those in need and positively impacting their lives!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A CAMINOS YOUTH CARE PROFESSIONAL - High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 21 years of age
- Valid Illinois driver's license
- Bilingual Required
WORK SCHEDULE We have a 24/7 program, and 4 shift options available:
- Evening Youth Counselor - 1 pm to 11 pm / 2 pm to 11 pm / 10 am to 10 pm (Full Time)
- Substitute Youth Counselor - 60 hours per month (Part Time)
- Morning Youth Counselor - 7 am to 9 am (Part Time)
- Day Youth Counselor - 8:30am to 5pm (Full Time)
