About the Role
You’ll be the linchpin between vision and execution—shaping how high-value scopes are pursued, priced, and won. This is a highly visible leadership role, where your expertise directly influences go/no-go decisions, pricing strategy, and long-term client relationships.
You’ll manage a dedicated team, collaborate closely with senior leadership to align estimating with business goals. This role is ideal for someone who brings deep technical experience, sound judgment, and the ability to lead both process and people with precision.
What You'll Own
* Lead all estimating activities for large-scale commercial construction projects
*Manage and mentor a team of junior estimators; provide ongoing training and oversight
*Perform detailed quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and competitive bid preparation
*Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and addenda; assess logistics, risk, and feasibility
*Collaborate with general contractors, design teams, and internal stakeholders throughout preconstruction
*Represent the company during site walks, pre-bid meetings, and proposal presentations
*Own the bid calendar and ensure accurate, on-time submissions
*Coordinate handoff from preconstruction to project management for awarded work
*Maintain client relationships and contribute to business development strategy
What Sets You Apart
*10+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction (new builds)
*Strong technical background and ability to price complex scopes with accuracy and speed
*Demonstrated ability to lead and grow a team
*Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
*Comfortable presenting to clients and collaborating cross-functionally
*Proven track record working in a deadline-driven environment with multiple concurrent bids
*Experience bidding to top regional and national general contractors
*Familiarity with project delivery and market conditions in the DMV
*Experience supporting preconstruction strategy and collaborating with clients or general contractors peferred
