Electrician – Lower Kuskokwim School District (Rural Alaska)

The Lower Kuskokwim School District is seeking a skilled *Electrician* to help maintain and support our district housing and schools in remote Alaska communities. This position is ideal for someone who is confident in their trade, values safety and professionalism, and is open to the unique opportunities of living and working in bush Alaska.

*What You’ll Do:*

* Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems in district schools and housing to National Electrical Code standards
* Troubleshoot and modify electrical systems with efficiency and care
* Identify, requisition, and maintain needed parts and equipment
* Support general facility maintenance by reporting repairs and malfunctions
* Travel to remote villages via small plane, often staying overnight in school facilities while completing projects
* Ensure the safety of staff, students, and facilities while working independently in rural settings

*What We’re Looking For:*

* High school diploma or GED
* State of Alaska Residential Wireman Certificate of Fitness (required)
* Proven ability to install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in residential homes
* Knowledge of the National Electrical Code
* Willingness to travel to remote villages, fly in small aircraft, and work in a cross-cultural environment
* Strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and teamwork

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.95 - $34.83 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
