Performs labor function in County owned/maintained buildings, parks and multiple properties. This includes preventative service, troubleshooting, repairing, renovating and maintenance of electrical from 480 to 120 volt (such as low voltage devices and controls, fixtures, devices and associated systems).
Maintenance, installation and repair of various electrical systems including but not limited to building electrical systems & exterior property lighting, sports lighting & controls and small liquid pumping systems & controls.
Ability to operate a bucket truck or willingness to learn to operate a bucket truck and attain proficiency within 3 months of hire.
Initiate material lists, solicit cost estimates, oversee delivery of parts and materials to rolling or fixed parts storeroom(s) or job sites; can/may coordinate scheduled work with building occupants and contractors. Track time and materials using Maximo (or other) Work Order Systems and is accountable for maintaining credit card receipts and other required paperwork. Ensure compliance of all County policies and procedures, safety, and environmental regulations. Can/may perform plan review on electrical features for County projects and assist with preparing specifications.
Can/may provide technical guidance/training to other Skilled Trades Workers and Trade Workers.
Other assigned duties in a team environment or as an individual contributor.
Meet with customers to discuss wants and needs, meet with contractors and service providers to provide and/or convey a scope of work and solicit quotes.
Serve on a rotating schedule for On-Call duties.
Work Hours: 7:00 a.m. 3:30 p.m. Monday Friday **Participates in on-call rotation.
Minimum Qualifications: A High School Diploma or its equivalent and three (3) years of experience, education, training or any combination of experience with commercial, industrial, institutional electrical trade in facility service and maintenance. Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License at time of hire.
Job Competencies:
Operation & repair of electrical equipment associated with mid-level to large commercial/public facilities.
Knowledge of safety and building codes & occupational hazards.
Ability to prioritize workload & remain flexible.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing at all levels of others' understanding. Basic computer skills including familiarity with a Work Management System.
Physical Demands: Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Pay: $18.66 (Step 1) - $22.29 (Step 7)
