Shift: 1st Shift
Hours: 7:30am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday ((occasional overtime & Saturdays)
Pay: $15.00/hr + Benefits after 90 days
ExpressPoint Technology Services, Inc., a distributor of a broad range of technology products and depot maintenance services, has full-time opportunities for an electronics repair technician in our East El Paso facility. This position will perform diagnostic and component level repair for handheld devices, laptops and/or network equipment. Previous computer hardware repair experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate with an electronics degree or other types of electronics repair experience.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Connecting, configuring and troubleshooting networking equipment.
- Perform diagnostic and configure handheld devices as well as troubleshoot failures and replace components.
- Basic laptop diagnostic and repair failing parts.
- Basic understanding of schematics, and ability to logically trace a fail on a device or pc board.
- Interfaces with other Technicians and Engineers to resolve problems and make improvements.
- Performs basic solder rework tasks and/or operates rework equipment as trained.
- •Cross train on multiple positions/products as needed.
- Ensure timely, tactful, and respectful communication with all internal and external customers.
- Follow all policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Education
- AA/AS in Electronics and/or 2 years post-high school trade school or military training in electronics
- An equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience
- Minimally 2 + years of directly related experience depending on education level
Other Skills and Abilities
- Strong sense of urgency.
- Ability to perform job duties with minimal supervision.
- Good customer service skills.
- Ability to work overtime as needed to support customer orders.
- Effectively communicates with technical team to resolve issues or propose improvements.
- Basic understanding of networking components and setups.
- Read and interpret electronic guides, manuals, and schematics.
- Ability to troubleshoot electronic circuits to the component level.
- Utilize basic electronic test equipment and in-house diagnostic software.
- Perform solder rework to replace through hole and surface mount components.
- Mechanically inclined in use of basic hand tools.
- Effective use of MS Office software.
