Position Overview:

The Structural Fabrication Supervisor will lead a team responsible for the fabrication and assembly of complex steel structures, primarily supporting U.S. Navy shipbuilding projects . This position requires deep technical expertise in structural fabrication and welding, along with the ability to effectively manage production teams in a fast-paced, high-spec environment. Experience working in NAVSEA-regulated environments or on U.S. Navy shipbuilding programs is strongly preferred. This is a high-visibility role with significant growth opportunity as the company ramps up its naval and defense-related work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of fabrication team members involved in the assembly of structural steel components.
  • Interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical specifications to plan and assign tasks.
  • Ensure all work complies with NAVSEA standards and shipbuilding quality protocols.
  • Monitor production schedules, identify delays or inefficiencies, and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct inspections of in-process and completed work to ensure adherence to tolerances and quality requirements.
  • Train and mentor team members in best practices for welding, safety, and structural fabrication.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance, engineering, and project management teams to ensure smooth workflow and resolve issues quickly.
  • Uphold a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement on the shop floor.

Qualifications:

  • Supervisory experience in a structural fabrication or heavy manufacturing environment, preferably related to shipbuilding or defense.
  • Strong working knowledge of NAVSEA standards , specifications, and compliance expectations.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Navy shipbuilding processes, material requirements, and inspection protocols.
  • Proficient in interpreting fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and quality documentation.
  • Hands-on leadership style with a focus on teamwork, safety, and performance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across departments and shift teams.
