Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Mechanic to join our busy diesel repair shop. As a Light Duty Mechanic, you will assist our team by diagnosing and repairing issues with our trucks / vehicles’ performance and function.
As a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic, you will perform routine heavy truck maintenance functions including but not limited to: electrical, hydraulic, engines, etc.The ideal candidate is skilled in communicating with customers, able to explain vehicle issues clearly and concisely and provide valuable advice.
A current CDL A License is required to be considered for candidacy.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Maintain all equipment, including: loaders, trailers, pickup trucks, fork lifts, dump trucks, ready mix trucks, semi
tractors, medium duty trucks, snow plows and all other equipment owned by the company.
2. Perform maintenance and repairs correctly and in a timely and efficient manner.
3. Coordinate work with drivers and dispatcher.
4. Perform as a substitute ready mix truck driver as needed.
5. Perform preventative maintenance on trucks such as greasing, changing oil and filter, checking and changing
air filter, checking and adding air to tires.
6. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Work effectively with co-workers.
2. Have the ability to drive standard and automatic transmission trucks.
3. Have the ability to drive heavy trucks and operate equipment such as fork lifts and endloaders.
4. Use effective written and oral communication skills.
5. Have the ability to move/lift up to 100 lbs.
6. Perform the job safely by demonstrating full awareness of his/her surroundings. Utilize proper safety techniques and
equipment when necessary. Proactive in alerting management of any unsafe act or condition to prevent injuries.
7. Operate industrial power and hand tools.
8. Have the ability to stand, walk, stoop, write, push, pull, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb. Regularly.*
9. Have the ability to adapt to changes and procedures.
REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES)
1. Valid CDL - Class A.
2. Display good judgement and respect for the Company, co-workers, and customers.
3. Minimum 2 years experience in heavy truck repair and maintenance.
4. Furnish own tools.
5. Knowledge of repair on components of heavy trucks and equipment including: suspensions, hydraulics, drivelines,
electrical systems, brakes, and engines.
6. Work effectively with co-workers.
7. Have the ability to drive standard and automatic transmission trucks.
