HR Generalist | Jenison, MI

Salary Range: $58,000 - $85,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Jenison seeking HR Generalists who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Recruit and onboard production staff, skilled trades, and administrative roles, managing the full hiring lifecycle.
• Manage employee relations, including grievance resolution, disciplinary actions, and fostering a positive plant culture.
• Ensure HR compliance with federal and state labor laws, company policies, and manufacturing-specific regulations (e.g., OSHA).
• Administer performance management processes, including reviews, development plans, and corrective actions for plant personnel.
• Coordinate and track mandatory safety training and other compliance-related training programs for the workforce.
• Process payroll inputs, manage benefits administration, and oversee leave of absence requests for manufacturing employees.
• Support workplace safety initiatives and manage workers' compensation claims in collaboration with operations.

Recommended Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of HR Generalist experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in full-cycle recruitment and retention for a diverse industrial workforce.
• Strong working knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including OSHA compliance.
• Proficiency in employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance management.
• Experience with HRIS platforms and HR data management.

Bonus Qualifications

• Multilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish)
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles
• Experience supporting a unionized workforce
• Active involvement in workplace safety initiatives or OSHA compliance programs
