A leader in Supply Chain Management, is seeking to fill an  Import & Customs Brokerage Coordinator position at its  Syracuse, NY location. The successful candidate for this role is a self-motivated, organized, detail oriented, and customer focused team player, capable of delivering new and innovative solutions to continuously meet and exceed our customer needs.

Essential Responsibilities:
As an Import and Customs Brokerage Coordinator, a successful candidate will possess the ability to manage multiple import customer accounts, ensuring full compliance with US Customs regulatory requirements and Company Policies. Daily, you will be required to submit, process and transmit customs entries and other filings, securing timely clearances for all import transactions, and successfully resolving any documentation discrepancies. This includes, but is not limited to:

· Verifying arrival information with carrier and preparing customs broker file for clearance and dispatching (Issuing clearance instructions, monitoring, tracking and updating systems as necessary)

· Transmitting verified information to ACE

· Preparing entry documents for Customs approval and duty payment, ensuring shipments are fully cleared by US Customs and payable/receivable documents are accurate and forwarded on time

· Organizing freight delivery for imported goods to assigned locations for on time delivery, (coordinating with trucking companies and updating our customers on delivery status as needed)

Additionally, you will be responsible for assisting the Customs Brokerage Manager and other team members with various assessments, audits, and trainings, as well as providing daily support to the customs coordinators.

Required Qualifications:

Education

· Associate’s degree in supply chain, Finance, or other equivalent.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years freight forwarder or customs brokerage experience, including direct experience as an entry filer.

Knowledge & Skills

· Strong understanding of US and International import transactions, including technical knowledge of trade agreements (USMCA, FTA, etc.) and International Customs legislation, compliance and security practices.

· Solid knowledge of and ability to assess/interpret HTS codes and PGA regulations/filings.

· Ability to work on projects independently.

· Excellent communication skills (presentation, written and verbal).

· Expert Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools – Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc., and CBP ACE.

· Adaptable, and continuous learner.

· Exceptional problem-solving skills, and creative solutions development and execution

Preferred Qualifications:

· Licensed Customs Broker or Certified Customs Specialist designation or equivalent.
