People Freight | Freight Forwarding & Logistics Recruitment Specialists Base pay range: $60,000.00/yr - $60,000.00/yr The Import and Export Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating international and domestic freight shipments, ensuring all import and export activities comply with U.S. and international regulations. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication with carriers, clients, and customs authorities. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and manage import and export shipments (air, ocean, and ground) from origin to destination. Prepare, review, and process shipping and customs documentation (commercial invoices, bills of lading, packing lists, AES filings, etc.). Communicate with carriers, agents, customs brokers, and clients to ensure timely and accurate shipment handling. Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and other international trade laws. Track and monitor shipments; provide status updates and resolve any issues or delays. Maintain accurate and up-to-date shipment records in internal systems. Support the logistics team in rate quoting, vendor coordination, and billing reconciliation. Assist with continuous improvement efforts related to shipping processes and customer satisfaction. Qualifications 2+ years of experience in freight forwarding, import/export operations, or logistics coordination (required). Strong understanding of INCOTERMS, HTS classification, and export documentation. Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) or freight forwarding software. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
