Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Mortgage Loan Officer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for originating residential mortgage loans by developing client relationships, evaluating loan applications, and guiding borrowers through the mortgage process from application to closing.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain relationships with real estate agents, builders, and other referral sources to generate mortgage business.
Conduct initial borrower interviews, gather financial information, and assess clients' mortgage needs.
Analyze credit, income, and asset documents to determine mortgage eligibility.
Advise clients on mortgage products, rates, and loan terms that best suit their financial situation.
Ensure complete and accurate loan application files and documentation.
Communicate loan status updates with borrowers, processors, underwriters, and closing agents.
Stay up-to-date on loan products, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Meet or exceed monthly loan volume and performance goals.
Attend networking events and participate in community outreach to promote company mortgage services.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
Active NMLS license required.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in mortgage origination or related sales experience.
Strong knowledge of mortgage loan products, underwriting, and lending regulations (e.g., FHA, VA, Conventional, USDA).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
Proficient in loan origination software (e.g., Encompass) and Microsoft Office Suite.
