Position: Operator I (Medical Device)
Duration: 06 Months (Contract)
Location:  Sylmar, CA 91342, USA

Pay Rate: $21.50/hr on w2(without Benefits)
Shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Job Description

This is a non-exempt position responsible for the production of high-quality medical devices within a manufacturing cell. Working under close supervision, the Operator I performs a combination of assembly, repair, and testing operations on pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), leads, and related medical device assemblies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine assembly, repair, and testing assignments following standardized procedures.
  • Ensure job documentation for cell operations is accurate and up to date.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of manufacturing management, both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude when interacting with internal teams and external visitors.
  • Follow safety guidelines and use appropriate safety devices during all operations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives to enhance production processes and meet quality and profitability goals.
  • Maintain accurate records to ensure traceability, compliance, and resolution of quality issues.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Collaborate with the Manufacturing Supervisor/Manager to set and monitor individual goals and cell performance metrics.
  • Support divisional initiatives related to Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written procedures as well as verbal instructions.
  • Familiarity with electronic data collection systems and computer software.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to handle and maneuver small components and parts.
