Position Overview
Nathan Hale Arts Elementary School is seeking a detail-oriented, creative, and organized Musical Costumer to manage all costume needs for our school musical. This temporary, stipend-based role is ideal for an individual with experience in costume design, wardrobe management, sewing, or theatrical production, and a passion for supporting young performers.



Key Responsibilities

• Manage the gathering, creation, organization, and maintenance of all costume pieces for the production.
• Coordinate with the Art Director, Director, and Choreographer to ensure costumes support the show's artistic, functional, and storytelling needs.
• Work with parents and volunteers to create, alter, or source costumes as needed.
• Collaborate with the Director to ensure costumes reflect and enhance the overall artistic vision.
• Supervise costume organization and assist students during dress rehearsals and performances when applicable.
• Perform additional production duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience in costume design, wardrobe management, sewing, or theatrical costuming.
• Strong organizational skills and an ability to manage many costume pieces and deadlines.
• Experience collaborating with artistic teams and volunteers.
• Comfort working with children or student performers preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Compensation

Stipend: $1,500 for the full production period.
