Busy Oral Surgery practice in Medford, NJ seeking a dependable oral surgery/dental assistant.

Duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Greeting and escorting patients to rooms
• Review medical and dental history with patients, report findings to doctor
• Prepare operatory rooms and consultation rooms, as needed
• Assist surgeon and staff with all surgical procedures
• Assist with patient’s local anesthesia and IV sedation
• Assist with preparing, cleaning, sterilizing, and maintaining surgical tools and equipment
• Follow infection control protocols to prevent cross-contamination, whenever possible
• Assist with the documentation of patient consultations, paper charts and EMR
• Work with surgeon to document/formulate treatment plan(s)
• Assist with coordination of patient’s treatment with referring health provider
• Schedule patients appointments using CS WINOMS
• Take digital x-rays and CBCT
• Assist with ordering supplies needed to perform procedures, as necessary
• Assist with maintaining necessary logs (i.e. implant cases, bone, etc.)
• Assist to develop and maintain list of present implant patients
• Update and prepare patient’s charts, before and after appointments, as necessary
• Follow through on assignments with minimal direction and supervision
• Handle surgical equipment carefully and safely
• Ability to control usage of supplies and equipment so as to minimize loss and maximize utilization
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with patients, including difficult patients and patient’s parents
• Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
