Job Description

Join our team as a Pharmacy Assistant, where you will play a vital role in enhancing our pharmacy services while adhering to state and federal regulations. In this position, you will work closely with pharmacists to provide excellent customer service and support overall pharmacy operations.

• Assist the pharmacist in daily pharmacy activities and deliver exceptional customer service.
• Utilize pharmacy systems to manage patient information and efficiently process prescriptions.
• Create a welcoming environment by engaging with customers, answering questions, and resolving issues swiftly.

Customer Experience

• Engage with customers positively, offering help and ensuring their needs are met.
• Demonstrate customer service excellence by sharing best practices and building strong relationships with valued customers.

Operations

• Support the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy, ensuring compliance with all regulations and company policies.
• Accurately enter patient and drug information into pharmacy systems and assist in filling prescriptions.
• Immediately report prescription errors to the pharmacist and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Handle cash transactions and assist customers with product locations throughout the store.
• Process third-party claims and contribute to inventory management tasks.
• Assist with clinical services, including sample collection, while coordinating with healthcare providers.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy department to provide a pleasant environment.

Training & Personal Development

• Achieve and maintain required pharmacy certifications, attending continuous education programs to enhance your skills.
• Remain knowledgeable about the latest advancements in healthcare and pharmacy practices.

Basic Qualifications

• Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous retail experience, especially within the pharmacy field.
• Familiarity with Walgreens practices and excellent math and computer skills.
• Prior certification such as PTCB or ExCPT is preferred.
