Company Overview:
A leading heavy manufacturing company specializing in producing high-quality industrial products and components is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Quality Engineer. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring that manufacturing processes and products meet or exceed established quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Assurance and Control:
- Develop and implement quality control procedures and guidelines to ensure product quality and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Monitor and analyze production processes to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address quality non-conformances.
- Inspection and Testing:
- Perform regular inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to verify compliance with specifications.
- Utilize statistical methods and quality tools such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate documentation of quality processes, inspection results, and corrective actions.
- Prepare quality reports and present findings to management and production teams.
- Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for quality control processes.
- Process Improvement:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements that enhance product quality and reduce waste.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing production efficiency and minimizing defects.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.) and regulatory requirements.
- Support internal and external audits and address any non-conformities identified during the audits.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering within a heavy manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems (QMS), statistical process control (SPC), and root cause analysis.
- Proficiency in quality tools such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and FMEA.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Certification in Quality Engineering (CQE) or Six Sigma is preferred.
