Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A K-12 school in Deltona, FL is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter for a contract position lasting the entire school year. This role is ideal for an experienced interpreter who is passionate about supporting students with hearing impairments in an educational setting.

Responsibilities:

• Provide clear and accurate sign language interpretation for students, teachers, and staff during classroom instruction and school events
• Facilitate effective munication between hearing-impaired students and their peers, educators, and family members
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions
• Collaborate with educational staff to support individualized student needs and acmodations
• Participate in meetings and training sessions as required to enhance interpreting skills and understand student-specific requirements

Qualifications:

• Proficiency and certification in American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation
• Experience working with K-12 students in an educational environment preferred
• Strong interpersonal and munication skills
• Ability to remain neutral and professional in diverse settings
• Knowledge of educational terminology and classroom protocols is a plus
