We are looking to hire a paid intern who lives and breathes social media and, most importantly – enthusiasm! At Garrett, we have a Brand that serves Handcrafted Happiness to our devoted fans every day and we want someone to serve up that same level of happiness to our fans on our Social Media platforms. As the Social Media Intern in the US, you will help communicate the voice of Garrett Popcorn Shops on all social media channels. Your job will be to identify ways to continually interact directly with our fans in a fun way that personifies our Brand. Garrett is happy food, and we want our fans to have the same level of excitement about engaging with us on social media as they do when they enter into one of our Shops. Qualified candidates should be eager to stay on trend, understand the Garrett Brand, and be able to engage with our fans in a way that allows them to promote a positive experience with Garrett.

Key Responsibilities:

• Community management – monitor and manage our inbox on Sprout social, engage with fans, accumulate feedback and FAQs from fans, delegate complaints to CX team
• Day-to-day posting – post approved content daily onto Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, repost stories from fans, monitor tagged photos and repurpose some for UGC if warranted
• Capture content – regularly gather Shop content to freshen up our backlog and capture assets for specific promos, visit retailers for RTE-specific posts, attend RTE or brand events on an as-need basis for content and recap purposes, film content at home on an as-needed basis
• Content ideation – assist Social Media Manager in new content ideas by staying up to date with social media trends, gathering inspiration from other brands and applying it to Garrett, and aiding in editing and adding to the monthly content calendars
• Video editing – edit videos for Instagram Reels and TikTok as well as paid ads for Meta platforms
• Copywriting and ad scripting – write captions and scripts for paid ads in the proper tone of voice for Garrett
• Influencer marketing – assist Social Media Manager with ongoing influencer marketing practices such as gifting, scouting new micro-influencers to gift and/or partner with, be on the email chain between Social Media Manager and influencer to oversee campaign and communicate with influencer to ensure content will be turned in a timely manner, they have all the info they need for content, etc.
• Establish new and maintain existing relationships with brands that align with Garrett’s ethos that we could potentially partner with on giveaways or larger scale projects down the line
• Analytics and reporting – pull metrics into monthly report to track impact and determine high/low performing content areas

Qualifications:

• Strong verbal, presentation, and written communication skills and the ability to evangelize social media throughout the organization
• Determination to contribute effective campaign ideas and strategies; ability to identify and respond quickly to real-time content marketing needs
• Knowledge of and passion for metrics and trends and proven track record of acting on data
• Experience in video editing and production and graphic design is a plus

Additional Information:

This role is a Remote position but will, on occasion, require onsite participation throughout the Chicagoland area for various social media content (days and times may vary). The ideal candidate will reside in the Chicagoland area. This role is expected to work between 20-30 hours per week, and the duration of the assignment will last approximately 6-9 months.
