Job Overview Fairview has an immdeiate opening for a Surgical Technologist in the Delivery Room at Fairview St. John's Hospital location in Maplewood, MN. We’re offering an up to $6,000 sign-on bonus along with a generous relocation bonus! As a Surgical Technologist, you’ll assist in surgical procedures by preparing the delivery room, arranging, and passing instruments to surgeons, and ensuring a sterile environment under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. You’ll play a crucial role in supporting the surgical team and maintaining the safety and efficiency of the delivery room. Schedule : This position will be working 0.6 FTE (48 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 12 hours on the day shift. This position will also work a rotation for every third weekend. Free parking! Summary: As a Surgical Technologist, you will be responsible for: Supplyingappropriate instruments, suture, and specialty items. Maintaining aseptic technique during all sterile procedures. Ensuringaccurate identification and handling of specimens. Counting all required sponges, sharps, and instruments. Assuring availability and accurate functioning of supplies and equipment. Modifying clinical interventions based on population served. Nurturing a culture of improvement, efficiency, and innovative thinking. Anticipating the surgeon’s needs. Followingappropriate action in emergency situations. Required Qualifications: Complete one of the following by hire date: Military Surgical Assistant; OR LPN (licensed in MN) Surgical Assistant; OR Surgical Technologist training Basic Life Support (BLS) through Health Care Providers (or ability to obtain by hire date) Preferred Qualifications: Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program AST certification or certification eligible at time of hire 1 to 3 years surgical tech experience Benefit Overview Fairview offers a generous benefit package including but not limited to medical, dental, vision plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, PTO and Sick and Safe Time, tuition reimbursement, retirement, early access to earned wages, and more!
