Role Description
Global-5 is seeking a Web Administrator & IT Support Specialist to manage our web infrastructure, ensuring seamless performance, security, and scalability. This full-time, on-site role focuses on website administration, server management, cybersecurity, and IT support, ensuring all digital assets and systems remain operational and optimized.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining company websites, overseeing hosting environments, managing cloud and on-premise servers, implementing security protocols, and providing internal IT support as needed. A strong background in WordPress administration, cloud services, and front-end troubleshooting is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Website Administration & Maintenance
· Manage, update, and maintain company and client websites, ensuring security, uptime, and performance.
· Administer and optimize WordPress-based websites, including plugin and theme management.
· Optimize website performance through caching strategies, database management, and CDN integration.
· Monitor and improve website speed, security, and SEO best practices.
· Troubleshoot and resolve website issues, errors, and downtime events.
· Set up and manage SSL certificates, domain configurations, and DNS records.
Server & Hosting Management
· Administer and maintain web servers (cloud-based and local), preferably AWS and traditional cPanel hosting environments.
· Configure, monitor, and optimize server performance, backups, and security settings.
· Perform system updates, software patches, and security hardening for web environments.
· Oversee database management, backups, and troubleshooting (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).
· Manage cloud storage solutions and integrations.
Security & Compliance
· Implement and monitor website security protocols, including firewall configurations, malware scanning, and intrusion detection.
· Ensure compliance with cybersecurity best practices, GDPR, and other web standards.
· Conduct regular security audits to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
· Set up automated monitoring tools to detect and respond to threats.
Front-End Support & Development
· Perform basic front-end updates (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for landing pages and content edits.
· Manage web forms, API integrations, and third-party tool connections.
Internal IT Support
· Provide technical support for in-house staff, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
· Assist with setting up and managing cloud-based tools, email configurations, and software licenses.
· Maintain network connectivity, VPNs, and office IT systems as needed.
· Support data migration and IT infrastructure upgrades.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
· Expertise in WordPress administration, including theme editing, plugin management, and troubleshooting errors.
· Strong understanding of web hosting environments, including AWS, cPanel, or cloud-based platforms.
· Proficiency in server management, security configurations, and backups.
· Knowledge of DNS, domain registration, and SSL certificate management.
· Experience with firewall security, malware protection, and performance monitoring tools.
· Ability to troubleshoot and resolve website issues quickly and efficiently.
· Familiarity with front-end languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for basic website modifications.
· Strong understanding of database management (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar).
· Experience working with website analytics, tracking scripts, and SEO optimization.
Preferred Skills:
· Knowledge of website accessibility standards (WCAG, ADA compliance).
· Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD workflows.
· Experience managing email systems and cloud productivity tools (Google Workspace, Office 365).
· Understanding of API integrations, webhooks, and automation tools.
· Basic knowledge of GIS and geospatial data visualization for map-based applications.
Additional Expectations
· Stay up to date with emerging web technologies and cybersecurity trends.
· Be available to provide emergency web or IT support when necessary.
