Job Description

Job Title: Patient Admission and Registration Coordinator Responsible for the admission and registration of incoming patients. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Facilitate admissions process for incoming patients. Schedule and complete pre-admission assessments, communicating recommendations to patients or their families. Review prospective admissions against approved admission criteria, policies, and procedures. Perform clerical duties such as managing paperwork, data entry, handling insurance claims, and answering phones. Complete necessary paperwork for patient admission, explain forms prior to signing, notify clinical lead of patient’s arrival, and escort the patient and documentation to the appropriate location within the facility. Ensure accurate and efficient completion of the admission process and timely distribution of related paperwork to staff. Verify receipt of all required patient information, process it, and schedule appointments with appropriate behavioral or medical health personnel. Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards patients. Address and resolve complaints, prioritizing patient safety. OTHER FUNCTIONS: Perform additional tasks as assigned. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS: Bachelor’s degree in a social services field required. One or more years of healthcare experience preferred. LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training provided upon hire). PA Certified Peer Specialist and/or Certified Recovery Specialist preferred. First aid certification may be required based on state or facility regulations. Equal Opportunity Employer.
