Job Description
Mayo Garden Centers is a locally owned garden center that specializes in all garden items, power equipment, and patio furniture. Mayo Garden Centers is looking for a well rounded applicant that can assist in selecting and purchasing goods to be sold in our retail store. Applicant should have a flare for decorating and design. In addition applicant will need to determine the stocking needs of our stores and work closely with management to ensure all shelves are stocked. Applicant will be responsible for encouraging sales with attractive displays and placement of inventory on the showroom floor.
Responsibilities:
· Develop and plan merchandising strategies for the store
· Research supplier options, taking into consideration prices, quality, etc. to determine the best fit for our retail stores
· Monitor the popularity of existing products
Qualifications:
· Previous experience as a buyer/merchandiser preferred
· Understanding of sales techniques and best practices in customer service
· Strong negotiation skills
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Salary is dependent upon experience.
