Responsibilities:
· Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical history review, physical examinations, and relevant diagnostic tests.
· Collaborate with the supervising surgeon and interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
· Provide preoperative and postoperative care to Orthopedic/Spine surgery patients, including clinic visits and rounding on postoperative patients.
· First Assist in surgical procedures as directed by the surgeon, ensuring adherence to sterile techniques and patient safety protocols.
· Manage and coordinate the continuum of care for Orthopedic/Spine surgery patients, including monitoring their progress, adjusting treatment plans, and addressing any complications or concerns that may arise.
· Educate patients and their families regarding their condition, treatment options, and postoperative care instructions.
· Document patient encounters, procedures, and treatment plans accurately and comprehensively in the electronic medical record system.
·Qualifications:
· Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
· Current, unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey
· Certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C)
· Prior experience in Orthopedic and Spine surgery or a closely related field is preferred but not required.
· Strong clinical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Salary: Competitive
Job Type: Full time and Per diem available
Hours: Rotating 12 hour shifts, Monday-Saturday
